First-year students have recently graduated from high school and are attending college for the first time.
Freshman decisions are processed on a Rolling Admissions basis.
A transfer student is an applicant who has graduated from high school, has attended another regionally accredited post-secondary institution, and has attempted one or more college courses.
The Fall General Nursing deadline is February 1 for receipt of applications and all required supporting documents. Applications received or completed after February 1 will not be considered for admission; there are no exceptions.
*Students with extenuating circumstances after the stated deadlines should contact the Admissions Office directly at 973-720-2646 or Admissions@wpunj.edu and speak with an admissions counselor.
Note: In order to maintain quality programs and student services, the University will adhere to the printed deadlines. Failure to submit complete official records of all prior college coursework will result in a delay in the application review process. Students transferring with less than 12 college-level credit must submit a high school transcript.
Graduate students have already earned a bachelor’s degree and are pursuing additional education in a specific field.

Adult learners are generally 25 or older. They are usually employed full-time, and often have family obligations. They may have previously started their college education, but had to take a break because of other responsibilities.
