Apply for FPA
Financial Planning Academy (FPA) is a week long summer program developed by Texas Tech University and funded by Charles Schwab Foundation. The program that offers rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors' education, and training in the core areas of personal financial management. The week will include working in small teams on a financial planning case study, developing a financial plan, and participating in other competitions for scholarships and prizes. In addition to promoting financial literacy among America's youth, the camp will provide insight into the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) industry and show students the value of financial planning as a profession. This multi-university program will be hosted at the following universities this summer: Texas Tech University, Prairie View A & M, University of Georgia, University of Missouri, Kansas State University, and William Paterson University. The combination of these institutions provides remarkable opportunities to connect with college students, faculty, and career professionals.
This camp is for high school students interested in pursuing a career in business or financial planning. Participants must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school. To be eligible, all students must complete the survey andapplication found on the website.

FAQ's
The cost for camp, including all meals, activities, and housing, is $150 per camper - a price made possible by the generous support from Charles Schwab Foundation. Participants will be responsible for their own travel arrangements. Funding is available to offset the cost of Financial Planning Academy. This camp is for high school students interested in pursuing a career in business or financial planning. Participants must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school in Fall 2024.Apply Here
The dress code is casual, shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes are acceptable. On the last day of camp, the dress code is business casual or professional (suits, ties, button-ups for gentlemen, blazers, skirts, pants for ladies). All participants will receive a Financial Planning Academy t-shirt upon arrival. Packing information will be available once accepted.
