Category Specific Instructions

  • When registration closes, the websites will be locked down and no further editing will be allowed.

  • Papers also need to be uploaded by the last day of registration in order to be considered for judging.

  • Documentaries, performances, and exhibits can be uploaded until the given deadline for this year's contest.

Completing the Registration Process

Even if you have registered and participated in NJ History Day in the past, you still have to fill out everything asked for within this registration process. Please ensure correct spelling and titles on your project entries! When we set up contests, we use the information provided by you to set the schedule: this includes titlescategory (project type, individual or group, and junior or senior division), and names. Misspellings in your name or project title will translate to a misspelling in the program at both the regional and state levels, and choosing the wrong category may result in the inability of your project to be properly judged. Once submitted, your project title cannot be changed. Please keep this in mind while registering and fully complete your registration in one sitting as complications can arise from incomplete applications.

Teachers–please be sure to keep your parents in the loop! Registration information is extremely time-sensitive, especially for those students for whom the district is not paying registration fees.

If you have any questions or need your private or parochial school added to the list of choices please email NJHistoryDay@wpunj.edu
