Mission Statement
The mission of the Dean’s Advisory Board (Board) for the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (CoAHSS) of William Paterson University (WPUNJ) is to provide and help procure mentorship, financial support, and placement opportunities for both traditional and non-traditional students and alumni. Board members serve as advisors, ambassadors, and advocates to help strengthen WPUNJ’s competitive position among public institutions of higher education in New Jersey and beyond.
Vision Statement
The Board envisions all CoAHSS students graduating with a greater chance for success in a broader spectrum of exciting and interesting career opportunities in the fields of the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and with a desire to give back as proud alumni.
Purpose
The purpose of the Board is to bring together a heterogeneous group of culturally and professionally diverse alumni and friends of WPUNJ and CoAHSS to volunteer their time to advise and assist the Dean of CoAHSS (Dean), their designees, and other members of the WPUNJ community in their efforts to improve and grow CoAHSS beyond its newly merged state, and to ideate and execute on solutions to both traditional and non-traditional student and alumni issues and concerns, such as attrition and financial insecurity, networking roadblocks, and unclear career-path options and preparedness.
