William Paterson University’s Legal Studies Program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a variety of options upon graduation. While many legal studies students plan to attend law school or graduate school, there are many options for graduates in the area of law and the courts. The following are examples: Law School (requires a Bachelor’s degree and a good GRE or LSAT score) Graduate School (Masters or PhD) Arbitrator (decides legal disputes between private parties) Mediator (helps private parties settle legal disputes) Court Administrator (head administrator for a court) Community Organizer (unites community members to solve problems of injustice) Law Firm Administrator (manages the business operations of a law office) Paralegal (assists attorneys in carrying out substantive legal work) Legal Assistant (assists attorneys with the day-to-day operations of a law office)
