Vanesa Apaza, BS, CHES Major: Public Health – Health Education, Class of 2013 Position: Youth Development Coordinator Agency: United for Prevention in Passaic County As a staff member at the Bergen County Office of Alcohol and Drug Dependency, Vanesa supports substance abuse prevention programs designed to serve the nearly one million residents of Bergen County. Vanesa is responsible for a wide range of projects, including data collection and interpretation, site visits, program contract review, oversight of program expenditures, analysis and evaluation of program plans, problem identification, trend analysis, and the preparation of reports. Vanesa uses the knowledge that she gained in her college coursework on a daily basis, particularly the content and skills from her program planning, research, and theory courses. (October, 2014)
