Paula Valenzuela, BS, CHES Major: Community Health Education, Class of 2011 Position: Senior Marketing Specialist Agency: United Healthcare Community Plan Paula works as the company’s Bilingual Health Educator Specialist serving the NJ Family Care Population by assisting in the always expanding United Healthcare Community Health Education offerings. Some of Paula’s responsibilities include identifying new topics of interest to the community through focus groups and advisory committee meetings. Paula puts her research, data collection, program planning, and coalition building skills to use in order to reach out to as many as 2,000 individuals per quarter through education and dissemination of the company’s initiatives. In the future, Paula plans to further her education with a graduate degree in public health. (October, 2014)
