Admissions Process

First-Time Freshmen Criteria for Admission

The decision to offer admission acceptance is based on a number of factors. These includes the quality of an applicant’s grades, types of courses taken, SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, extracurricular/community involvement, and financial eligibility requirements as indicated by the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education of New Jersey.

Academic Considerations:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.3
  • SAT Score: Minimum Combined 880 (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math)
  • ACT Composite Score: Minimum 16

Financial Consideration:

EOF applicants must meet the income eligibility guidelines for household income based on size as determined yearly by the NJ Commission on Higher Education.

 State Eligibility Criteria:

  • EOF applicant must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents
  • EOF applicant must be a New Jersey residents for at least one-year prior to enrollment
  • Intend to enroll full-time (at least 12-credits per semester)
  • Attended a high school and/or live in targeted socio-economic areas as identified by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education

 First-Time Freshmen Admission Process

 Step 1: Complete a WPUNJ On-line Application

1. Submit your Official Transcripts with Cumulative GPA

2. Submit Official SAT/ACT Scores

 Step 2: Complete Section I of the EOF 2018-2019 Application (On-line)

                Available under “My Application Status” once student has applied to WPUNJ

 Step 3: Complete and Submit Section II of the EOF 2018-2019 Application

                 Section II is emailed to EOF applicant after the completion of step 2

Step 4: Submit Supporting Financial Documents:


  • 2016 Income Tax Returns with all schedules
  • 2016 W-2s
  • 2016 Tax Return Transcript


  • 2016 Income Tax Returns with all schedules (if applicable)
  • 2016 W-2s
  • 2016 Tax Return Transcript (if applicable)

Include the following required documents only if applicable:

  The EOF Office reserves the right to request additional financial documentation to determine eligibility.

Application Deadline: April 1st 


Please Note: 

  • All students must complete the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) for each academic year by April 1st.
    • The FAFSA can be obtained online at:
    • We recommend that you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. It allows students and parents to access the IRS tax return information needed and transfer the data directly into their FAFSA. It’s the best way of ensuring that your FAFSA has accurate tax information.
  • All students must answer the “New Jersey Grant Questions” from the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA).
  • If you do not adhere to the deadline, you may be ineligible for available federal and/or state financial aid programs for the 2018-2019 academic year.
