William Paterson University’s student-run radio station, WPSC-FM in Wayne, NJ, is one of five finalists in the nation nominated for the Marconi Award for “Noncommercial Station of the Year.”

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2015 NAB Marconi Radio Awards in July 2015, honoring radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. The winners will be announced on Thursday, October 1 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show in Atlanta.

“We are extremely proud of our students at WPSC-FM for being nominated for this prestigious national award,” says Rob Quicke, associate professor of communication and general manager of WPSC-FM, also known as WP 88.7 FM Brave New Radio.

William Paterson’s WP 88.7 FM has won a stream of awards, including the “Best College Radio Station Award” from the New Jersey Broadcasters Association in June 2015. The station also won the “Best Station in the Nation” award from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) in 2012 and 2013, and was a finalist for the award in 2014.
