William Paterson University to Host 5th Annual Educational Technology Conference

--Conference addresses the question: “Is Your School Ready for Technology-Based Assessments?”

A conference that will address how a school can best prepare for technology-based assessments for all students will be held on Friday, December 12 at William Paterson University.

The 5th Annual William Paterson Technology Conference is titled “PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) and Technology: Is Your School Ready for Technology-Based Assessments?” The conference, geared for K-12 teachers, technology specialists, and administrators, will be held at 1600 Valley Road, Wayne, N.J. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $95.00.

Dr. Robert Price, director of curriculum and instruction for the Northern Valley Schools Consortium, will be the keynote speaker. He will discuss “Digital Assessments: Ready or not, here they come.”

The conference will include a series of workshops on a variety of topics, including “PARCC: Implementation and Management,” “Chromebooks and PARCC, The Perfect Match,” and “Preparing Students with Disabilities to Take PARCC Tests.” Presenters will discuss associated changes and unintended consequences of this new assessment approach. Workshops will explore how to prepare for technology-based assessments in the schools.
