Lightwire Theater and Corbian Visual Arts and Dance, a semi-finalist on the seventh season of America’s Got Talent, will present “The Ugly Duckling” at William Paterson University in Wayne on Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Pre-show activities begin at 1:15 p.m.

Based on Hans Christian Anderson’s classic children’s book, this modern adaptation fuses glow-in-the-dark electroluminescent wire puppetry and choreography with classical, jazz and pop music. The story stars an ugly duckling that displays strength and courage, ultimately transforming into a beautiful swan. Broadway.com has referred to the performance as “an eye-popping display of storytelling that’s like nothing else you’ve ever seen.”
