The Doo Wop Project to Perform Classic Oldies at William Paterson University on April 11

The Doo Wop Project, featuring current and former stars of the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash Jersey Boys, will perform on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at William Paterson University in Wayne. The performance will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus as part of its WP Presents! series.

Tickets are available at the Shea Center Box office in advance at 973.720.2371 or wp-presents.org.  Tickets are $30 for orchestra seating and $25 for loge.

The Doo Wop Project traces the evolution of the music from groups like the Crests, the Belmonts, and the Flomingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons. The evening will include such classic pop hits as “Denise,” “Little Bitty Pretty One” and “Since I Don’t Have You,” as well as contemporary songs by Michael Jackson and other artists.  The performers will share personal stories and experiences in the music business, and how it led them to form the group.
