William Paterson University Theatre to Present “A Thousand Cranes” from March 5 To 10

“A Thousand Cranes” by Katherine Schultz Miller will be performed at William Paterson University in Wayne from March 5 to 10 in the Hunziker Black Box Theatre on campus.

“A Thousand Cranes” is a drama about the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima. It revolves around the true story of Sadako Saski, a girl who was two years old when the atomic bomb struck her hometown. Now ten years later, Sadako is stricken with leukemia and must deal with the affects of the “radiation sickness” with the help of her family and friends. “A Thousand Cranes,” a play of peace and hope, intrigues audiences of all ages. The production will be directed by Sherrie Ahlin, William Paterson University adjunct professor of communication.

“A Thousand Cranes” will be performed from March 5-9 at 7 p.m. and March 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $14 general and $10 for senior citizens, students and William Paterson faculty, staff and alumni.
