Mixed Race Mixtape, a Hip-Hop Play About Ethic Identity, to be Presented at William Paterson University On February 25

William Paterson University will host Mixed Race Mixtape, a hip-hop play about ethnic identity, on Thursday, February 25, 2016, as part of its WP Presents! series. Performances will take place at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus.

Tickets are available for $5 by calling the Shea Center Box Office at 973.720.2371 or visiting wp-presents.org. William Paterson University faculty, staff, alumni and students will be admitted free with ID.

Mixed Race Mixtape focuses on complex issues including race, class and identity by using rap, monologues, and instrumentals in this interactive show.  Created by recent graduates of Hampshire College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the team strives to examine the ways in which stereotypes often define cultural authenticity and shape how people of color are imagining, claiming and policing identity. A post-show discussion follows each performance.
