Award-Winning Novel The Giver to be Presented in One-Woman Stage Play at William Paterson University on November 13 A one-woman version of the award-winning novel The Giver by Lois Lowry will be presented as part of American Place Theatre’s Literature to Life Stage Program on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at William Paterson University in Wayne. The performance will take place in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Tickets are $10 for general admission and free for William Paterson students, faculty and staff. Set in a dystopian world where all is the same, twelve-year-old Jonas is selected to receive the memories of a far different life. The performance focuses on the relationship between young Jonas and his mentor, The Giver. Surrounded by a pre- and post show interactive discussion, the audience will explore themes including individuality, ethics and social constructs.
