Arc Attack–Tesla Coil Music, As Seen On Nbc’s “America’s Got Talent,” To Perform At William Paterson Univeristy On March 8

ArcAttack, the performance art group that was a hit on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” will deploy their wizardry to produce an electrifying performance through the use of homemade, high-tech instruments like the “singing” Telsa coils when they appear at William Paterson University in Wayne on Sunday, March 9, 2015. The performance will take place at 2 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus as part of the “WP Presents!” series.

Preshow activities start at 1:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children.

ArcAttack combines rock music with science and explores many concepts such as electricity, voltage, current, magnetism, robotics and lightning. The creators of ArcAttack also incorporate a stunt man, which shows the use of their musical machines. A highlight of their attra their performance is the use of two custom-built “singing” Tesla coils, which have been modified to play musical notes by modulating their spark output.

The group includes Joe DiPrima, the founding member of ArcAttack, who continues to design and construct ArcAttack’s hardware and software; John Diprima, the lead composer and arranger; Sam McFadden, the electronic technician who is responsible for the safety and technical support of the show; and Steve Ward, the electronic engineer who specializes in high-voltage and pulsed-power applications.
