Musical Salon Series to Present the Romance of Harp and Flute on March 10

Karen Demsey and Merynda Adams will join together for a performance of the flute and harp at William Paterson University on Sunday, March 10, 2013. The concert will be held at 2 p.m. in the University’s Hobart Manor as part of its “WP Presents!” series.

 Karen Demsey, William Paterson music professor and flutist, and Merynda Adams, harpist virtuoso, will perform an eclectic offering of music from around the globe. The concert will include music by Argentinian composer Piazzolla and French composer Ravel.

Demsey has published numerous articles on flute pedagogy and presents clinics and master classes around the country. She recently performed as a soloist in Nanjing and Hangzhou, China and as a member of the International Flute Orchestra throughout Belgium and the Netherlands. Adams, a Manhattan School of Music graduate, has performed with groups such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, New York Grand Opera, New Philharmonic and Northeastern Philharmonic. She was also featured off Broadway in “The Fantasticks.”
