William Paterson University Theatre to Present “The Heidi Chronicles” from October 22-27

“The Heidi Chronicles,” Wendy Wasserstein’s 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, will be performed at William Paterson University in Wayne from October 22 to 27 in the Hunziker Black Box Theatre on campus.

“The Heidi Chronicles” is a coming-of-age story about feminist Heidi Holland. The play follows Heidi’s life from high school to her career as an art historian more than twenty years later. As the status of women changes throughout the socially and politically active 1960s and 1970s and into the success-oriented 1980s, Heidi strives to have it all.

The play will be directed by Elizabeth Stroppel, William Paterson University associate professor and assistant chair of the communication department. Stroppel is also the producer of University Theatre and coordinator of the theatre and comedy program. She received a Ph.D. at University of Texas at Austin in dramatic text and criticism/theatre history.

The cast includes Dax Abrams of Clifton, Alannah Rae Bartalone of Rochelle Park, Nicole Boscarino of Wayne, Ray Cusak of Paramus, Kaitlyn Masters of Phillipsburg, Anna O’Connor of Roselle Park, Philip J. Williams of Newark and Tyray Williams of Lodi.

“The Heidi Chronicles” will be performed from October 22-26 at 7 p.m. and October 27 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $14 general and $10 for seniors citizens, students and William Paterson faculty, staff, and alumni.
