Financial Planning Students Compete in National Competition in California

Three William Paterson University financial planning majors will compete in the FasTech Quiz Bowl and client presentations at the ninth annual Technology Tools for Today Conference in Anaheim, Calif., beginning February 10. The three seniors Michael Cerone of Ringwood, Guiseppe Roveccio of Pompton Plains, and Alex Vaccarella of Kinnelon, were selected to travel to the conference by the financial planning faculty.

The competition has four major components: Prepare a financial plan case study for a mock client, create a website as if the team owned a financial planning firm, film a video of a mock client presentation and, at the conference, a quiz bowl. They will be competing with student teams from Virginia Commonwealth, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and San Diego State University, among others.

Technology Tools for Today hosts two conferences annually to provide financial advisers and executives of financial institutions a place to learn about new technology offerings and the opportunity to shape future technological developments by speaking directly to industry leading and startup developers. It is the only practice management/technology conference for financial advisers.
