William Paterson University Presents Asian Martial Arts on April 13

The Asian Arts Center will present different forms of Asian martial arts at William Paterson University on Saturday, April 13. The performance will take place at 2 p.m. in the University’s Wightman Gym as part of its “WP Presents!” series and in conjunction with the William Paterson University Cross-Cultural Arts Festival.

The performance will incorporate Okinawan Goju-ryu or Chinese White Crane kung-fu, Yamanni-ryu, the weapons system from Okinawa, T’ai Chi Ch’uan and the Japanese swordsmanship of Iaido. The Asian Arts Center, founded by Sensei Dong Tran, offers traditional Japanese, Chinese and Okinawan martial arts. The performance will highlight the talent and skill that goes into studying many genres of Asian martial arts.
