Vice President Joe Biden Phone Interview and Wyclef Jean Guest Appearance Highlight William Paterson University College Radio Day 2013

Vice President Joe Biden was interviewed by phone and Grammy Award-winning musician Wyclef Jean visited campus to support William Paterson University’s third annual College Radio Day on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

In what has grown into World College Radio Day, more than 700 participating college and high school radio stations in 43 countries heard William Paterson’s special broadcast.

Rob Quicke, associate professor of communication and general manager of the station, interviewed the vice president. Biden addressed student concerns about college debt, the job market, and the Affordable Healthcare Act. He congratulated Quicke for College Radio Day and said, “You started something really good here.” Click here to hear the audio.

Jean was interviewed by radio hosts Eric Dolan and Naomi Lawrence in Hobart Hall’s Martini Conference Room. Jean, a three-time Grammy Award-winning Haitian American rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer, spoke about the importance of keeping grassroots music alive on college campuses. He performed a few songs, including  "If I Were President" and "Gone Til November."
