William Paterson University Musical Salon Series to Present Festival Chamber Music on April 21

Chamber musicians Ruth Sommers and Mikhail Hallak will perform at William Paterson University on Sunday, April 21. The performance will take place at 2 p.m. in the University’s Hobart Manor as part of its “WP Presents!” series and in conjunction with the Musical Salon Series.

Cellist Ruth Sommers and pianist Mikahil Hallak will collaborate for an afternoon of chamber music, presenting three Brahms Sonatas for the cello and piano. Sommers and Hallak are known for the exuberance of their performances and interaction with the audience. Sommers is a graduate of Julliard and winner of a Concert Artists Guild Award. She is now the director of Festival Chamber Music. Hallak studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He was also the founder and artistic director of the Belgian chamber music festival, “Les Nuits d’Hiber au Chateau.” Hallak is a member of Festival Chamber Music under the direction of Sommers.
