Bugs and Balloons, a unique children’s theatre duo, will present The Lizard of Oz, an interactive family performance, on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at William Paterson University in Wayne. The performance will take place at 1 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus as part of the “WP Presents!” series. Pre-show creative activities begin at 12:15 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Shea Center Box office in advance at 973.720.2371 or wp-presents.org.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children.

The Lizard of Oz is an interactive land of balloon creations and sculptural costumes. Along the journey, elements of the famous movie come alive. Audience members meet a singing and dancing Tornado, the Yellow Brick Road, the Witch’s Castle and the great and powerful Lizard of Oz.

Annie Hickman (“Ladybug”) and Allynn Gooen (“The Balloon Guy”) created this performance. They met in 1988 at a showcase for children’s theatre performances and have combined their talents for this distinctive show. They have performed at venues across the United States, as well as in Australia, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali and China.
