This is a tremendously exciting time to study business at William Paterson University. The Cotsakos College of Business was named in honor of Christos M. Cotsakos. A 1973 William Paterson graduate, Cotsakos led the online revolution as CEO of E*TRADE, the internet financial services company. Together with his wife, Tami, Cotsakos endowed 10.5 million dollars to William Paterson, the largest donation in University history. The bulk of this gift, $10 million, supports the growth and development of the Cotsakos College of Business and the creation of a simulated trading and financial center. In the Global Financial Services Institute Financial Learning Center students learn about the principles of investing and money management. The Cotsakos College of Business is accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. This is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting. The College offers traditional areas of study, such as accounting, as well as cutting-edge programs in areas such as financial planning and professional sales. The College leadership is focused on keeping programs relevant in today’s global and technology-driven business world. The William Paterson University Small Business Development Center, located in downtown Paterson and run by director Kate Muldoon, is the recipient of multiple grants supporting its programs from both local and federal funders. WPUSBDC programs provide training and resources that support small business owners in Passaic county. Long-term funders include the US Small Business Administration and the City of Paterson Urban Enterprise Zone.
