William Paterson University’s Office of Parent and Family Relations is grounded in the belief that parents, family members and those involved in a student's life, play a critical role in their success. As such, the office provides comprehensive resources and programs for parents, families and supporters in order to enhance their understanding of the university experience and facilitate appropriate opportunities for them to assist their student in transitioning into college, thriving while attending, and earning a degree and positive post-graduation outcome.

Our goal is to support parents and families by:

• Increasing and enhancing parent and family involvement and engagement
• Providing information and communication that is current, relevant and timely
• Providing programs and services aimed to assist parents in navigating the college experience
• Helping families understand University policies and procedures
• Maintaining successful one-on-one relationships between parents and the University
