Holmes Scholars Program

William Paterson University proudly participates in the Holmes Scholars Program and supports one Holmes Scholar in each cohort of the EdD in Leadership. As active members of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), William Paterson University is committed to supporting doctoral candidates from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds who are pursuing a doctoral degree through mentoring, support, and engagement.  Holmes Scholars are expected to commit to the program for a three-year period.

In addition to providing mentorship, professional guidance, and counseling to Holmes Scholars, the University funds the yearly participation in the AACTE Annual Meeting and the Holmes Scholar Summer Policy Institute. Holmes Scholars are encouraged to present their research at the AACTE Annual Meeting.

For information on the Holmes Program and how to participate, visit the AACTE/Holmes Program website at www.aacte.org/programs-and-services/holmes-program or contact the University’s Holmes Program Coordinator, Professor David Fuentes, at fuentesd2@wpunj.edu.
