The research activities at DSRL are partially supported by the following funding sources: NSF ACCESS Award: Dr. Ku serves as the Principal Investigator for the project titled: "High-Performance Computing Capability for the Data Science Research Lab at William Paterson University (Award Number: CIS 230163)". This award provides access to over 15 supercomputing facilities across the United States, enhancing the lab's data science research capabilities. Project HEAL Evaluation: Dr. Ku's research is partially funded through the Healthcare Approaches to Justice Collaborative at Montclair State University. His work focuses on data science, natural language processing, and data/text mining. This research is supported by the Hackensack Meridian Health grant for the NJ Hospital-Based Violence Intervention program under the Collaborative. MaCS Scholars Program: As a Co-Principal Investigator, Dr. Ku plays a key role in the MaCS Scholars Program, a five-year initiative funded by a $1 million NSF grant. This program provides summer research internship opportunities for MaCS Scholars, who are actively recruited to participate in Data Science Research Lab (DSRL) projects. Student Research Fund: Dr. Ku consistently applies for funding to support faculty-student research collaborations on DSRL projects. This funding, awarded by the College of Science and Health every semester, enables students to serve as research assistants and gain valuable hands-on experience.
