While some departments (based on their findings or in some cases unexpected difficulties encountered in carrying out their projects) followed- up on or expanded the first year’s results, others proceeded to assess other aspects of their activities, or focused on assessment related to the CAS standards. Also, since at that point, some departments had a better understanding of how to assess learning outcomes, we asked them to expand their assessment horizons. Specifically, we challenged them to create assessment goals with their divisional and academic colleagues on projects and activities that they had already been collaborating on but have never assessed in such a collaborative fashion. What you will also find for each department’s assessment results on this page is an additional column which “closes the loop.” That is to say, departments describe what they actually did with the information they gleaned from each learning goal they assessed and the programmatic changes they made.
