Pioneering Champions Campaign

In an effort to provide its student-athletes with the resources they need to compete and succeed at the highest level, William Paterson University has launched the Pioneering Champions Campaign to generate $1.5 million for a 4,000-square-foot addition to its existing athletic fieldhouse facility.

Athletic Fieldhouse Addition and Renovation

William Paterson University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is an integral part of the institution’s overall mission to provide its students with a comprehensive educational experience, one that stresses the importance of academic, personal, emotional, social, and physical development. As part of the University’s Division of Student Development, the athletics department extends the learning environment beyond the classroom to enrich student-athletes’ educational growth, providing them with the opportunities and means to be successful both in the classroom and the athletic arena. William Paterson sponsors 13 NCAA Division III intercollegiate teams and currently has 300 student-athletes.

The Athletics Fieldhouse Expansion and Renovation will include:

  • A student-athlete specific fitness center, featuring strength training and cardio areas, with roll-up glass garage doors facing Wightman Stadium

  • An expanded athletic training facility

  • Individual locker rooms for field hockey, softball, and women’s soccer

  • Renovation of the football and baseball locker rooms

The University now turns to its community inviting them to help make this project a reality. The Pioneering Champions Campaign gives alumni and friends the opportunity to make an investment that will allow the University to enhance athletic recruitment and raise visibility with student-athletes on a national level, while meeting the needs of all our current student-athletes. Gifts can be made in a variety of ways, including over time, or as part of a planned estate gift.

If you are interested in naming opportunities or in supporting the campaign at any level, please contact Pamela Ferguson, Vice President for Institutional Advancement | fergusonp4@wpunj.edu | 973.720.2425
