The Purchasing Department was created in 1968 as a result of the need to provide an efficient means to procure goods and services for the growing University community. It has continued to provide this service through many changes. The Purchasing Department is responsible for developing and administering consistent, fair and effective purchasing practices via competitive public bidding, bulk purchasing and quality discounts in accordance with State of New Jersey and University policies.
