High Mountain East and West house first year students. High Mountain East features housing for freshmen accepted into the Honors Program. All remaining spaces in High Mountain East and West are available to other new freshmen, pending availability. Submission date of the housing contract/deposit will be considered when completing assignments within this community. Students are assigned to either double or triple occupancy rooms, which are arranged suite-style in which the two rooms are joined by a bathroom. All rooms are air conditioned and are centered around common area lounges. The rooms and lounges are equipped for wireless access, and the building houses two smart classrooms which are used as part of the living/learning experience. The buildings are smoke free. No smoking is permitted in suites, hallways, and common areas, and there are smoke detectors and fire prevention sprinklers in every room. Free laundry machines are available to students in each community and vending machines can also be found in the common area on the first floor of each building.
