This page lists a variety of important policies the Technical Services Window holds. If you are faculty, staff, or a student, please familiarize and review the policies reguarding reserving equipment, renting equipment, using the editing labs, and more.
Equipment Reservations and Rentals In order to reserve quipment or editing time a student has to be in a Communication Department class that requires them to use the equipment and/or editing facilities. Faculty members who are teaching classes that require use of the equipment or editing facilities MUST email their class roster to Rob Meyer (Meyerr@wpunj.edu) at the beginning of the semester. Everyone who takes out equipment must have a completed "TSW Agreement Form" and must pass a competency test for any/all equipment they wish to take out. The maximum time that a student can reserve equipment is 24 hours on weekdays (M-F). On weekends, students can pickup equipment on Friday after noon and MUST bring it back by 10am Monday. If a student does not show up for their booking within 30 minutes, someone else may rent out that equipment. Student can only take out 1 camera at a time. Students must come to the window themselves, with their WPU student ID, to pick up their equipment. Students will be charged $1 per hour for EVERY piece of equipment that is returned late. Fines accrue IMMEDIATELY after the due date is passed. Students are responsible for any and all damages and/or loss of equipment while it is in their possession.
Editing Lab Reservation and Use Policies In order to reserve equipment or editing time a student has to be in a Communication Department class that requires them to use the equipment and/or editing facilities. Faculty members who are teaching classes that require use of the equipment and/or editing facilities need to email their class rosters at the beginning of the semester to Rob Meyer (Meyerr@wpunj.edu). Everyone who reserves and uses an editing room MUST fill out a "TSW Agreement Form". The maximum editing room reservation is 4 hours. If students need more time they can find out at the end of their booknig if a computer is available for the next 4 hours. If a student does not show up within 30 minutes of their booking for editing time, someone else can use that time the student had reserved. If a student is found with food or beverage in any of the editing rooms, they will recieve a warning. Upon returning to the editing rooms, if they still have not gotten rid of their food or drink, they will lose the rest of the editing time. Students may only have one editing booking at a time. When a student is done editing, they may come to the TSW to schedule another editing session.
