INFORMATION FOR
One camera offered to Communications students is the Sony PMW-200. In order to reserve and use a PMW 200, a student must be enrolled in Video Production and Editing (VPE), Film 1, Advanced Broadcast Journalism, Advanced TV Production, TV Workshop, Electronic News Gathering, or Capstone, have permission as a non-class user from a full time faculty member, or be a producer of a WPTV6 Show. Students must also have filled out an agreement form, and passed the PMW competency test. This page is designed to help you understand the basic functions of the PMW. Sony PMW 200 Competency Test
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is a compact Super35 camera with a Canon EF Lens Mount. The 6k Pro kit is available to students who are currently enrolled in a Film 2, Film 3, or Media Production Capstone class. Media Production students who are not in one of those classes can get permission to use the camera as a non-class user from a full time Media Production faculty member. The kit includes the Pocket Cinema 6k Pro camera, a Sigma 18-35mm lens, 2 batteries, a camera battery grip, a dual battery charger with car power adapter, AC power supply, a battery charger that can connect to a computer via USB, and a wireless microphone kit (1 receiver, a body pack with lavalier microphone, and plugin transmitter). Please be sure to have a UHS-II SDXC Memory Card or a portable SSD such as the Samsung T7. Also included are a lens pen, marker, slate, and white balance card. In order to take out the kit students must also have filled out an agreement form, and passed the 6k Pro competency test.
